The Second Annual Custom Lanyard Design Contest has come to a successful close. The sponsor of the lanyard contest, ID Wholesaler, a leading retailer of ID badge printers, supplies, and accessories, held the contest to recognize the talented artists who make creative custom lanyards.
We help organizations every day with their ID badging programs, said Jennifer Clancy, marketing manager at ID Wholesaler. Through this contest we were able to connect with individual lanyard designers and prove that wearing an ID badge can be personalized and fashionable!
The contest first ran in the spring of 2011. Due to the overwhelming response from lanyard designers and jewelry artists, ID Wholesaler turned the contest into an annual event. The second annual event was open from April 16 through May 31, 2012 and proved to be a success with over 87 entries and 7,450 votes nearly twice the number of votes that were received in 2011.
The winners were selected by a public vote with the 1st prize winner receiving a $ 300 VISA? card and the 2nd prize winner receiving a $ 150 VISA card.
First prize was awarded to Bhanumathy S. from California with 1,423 total votes. Her design titled The Spirit of Color featured colorful seed beads strung in a southwest pattern with a ring for attaching an ID badge. Second prize was awarded to Susan M. from New York with 1,209 total votes. Her Safety First lanyard was made from gold safety pins strung with an assortment of cultured pearl beads, gold tone beads, and a recycled brooch from an antique shop.
