Waltham, MA (PRWEB) March 28, 2012

PlanetShoes.com, a premier online shoe retailer, announced today that they have donated more than $ 10,000 worth of shoes to the Womens Lunch Place thanks to generous support from Israeli shoemaker Naot.

Naot footwear is one of the leading comfort footwear brands in the market. Since 1991, Yaleet Inc. and Naot have been donating shoes to people in need with the help of their retailers.

To our company, comfort is a concept that goes beyond the fit of shoes; it is how we treat each other, our customers, our environment and is reflected in how we treat those who are down on their luck. My favorite part of our company is the fact that we donate shoes weekly to folks that really need them. There are few feelings that compare to helping a less fortunate person experience the happiness of putting on a brand new, comfortable pair of shoes and we strive to accomplish this with every donation we take part in. Every year we donate approximately 15,000 pairs of shoes to local charities, in hopes that we will bring joy and happiness to peoples lives one step at a time. Steve Lax, President of Yaleet Inc. (distributor of Naot Footwear)

The shoes were distributed to Womens Lunch Place guests on March 1, 2012 by representatives from both PlanetShoes.com and Naot. More than 100 women will benefit from the shoe donation.

PlanetShoes.com is incredibly pleased to have the opportunity to make a donation of this scale to the Womens Lunch Place, said Phil Meynard, President of Planet, Inc. They provide a valuable service to the Boston community and were always happy to support another local organization!

When I consider the sheer number of miles that our Guests put on their feet on a yearly basis, I would say that good shoes are just as important as good quality food, said Sharon Reilly, Executive Director. We are honored that PlanetShoes and Naot chose the Womens Lunch Place as a partner in their efforts to bring joy and happiness to peoples lives. Everybody loves a comfortable and beautiful pair of shoes. Our Ladies got both with the donation.

The Womens Lunch Place is a safe, comfortable daytime shelter for primarily low-income homeless women, victims of violence and women suffering from mental health problems and addiction. They currently provide services to more than 150 women and their children in the Boston-area each day.
