Electronic cigarettes are a recent innovation that has lately been advertised as a way for smokers to get their fix in a healthier fashion. Nicknamed e-cigs, they provide smokers with the nicotine they crave but not any tobacco. E-cigs are not flammable and contain the latest technology. When users are using electronic cigarettes, the liquid nicotine, contained in a solution, is vaporized, and then those users exhale that vapor — it looks like smoke, and the physical and taste sensations are a lot like the real thing. Vaporizing — also known as vaping — and electronic cigarettes are thus not only a product but a lifestyle that can have wide-ranging repercussions to the tobacco industry.
Electronic cigarettes, like the top electronic cigarette brands reviewed at New Electronic Cigarette Review (http://newelectroniccigarettereview.com/) are free of 99% or more of what makes traditional cigarettes unhealthy, i.e. tar, smoke, tobacco and carcinogens. And lab studies have shown that electronic cigarettes liquids are far less harmful than the ones in standard cigarettes.
Greek researcher Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos, at the 2012 European Society of Cardiology (held in Germany), presented research that he had done on the differences between traditional and electronic cigarettes. Dr. Farsalinos research was devised to coincide with the rise in popularity of e-cigs that we have noticed. The study was designed to measure how heart function is affected with e-cigs as opposed to with the traditional varieties. 20 healthy 25-year-olds who smoked daily, as well as 22 people of the same age who smoked e-cigarette users, took part in Dr. Farsalinos work. The former group smoked one standard cigarette, and the latter group smoked an electronic cigarette for a seven-minute period. Myocardial function was measured for both groups.
According to the results, the group who smoked the tobacco-containing version had acute myocardial dysfunction, while the electronic cigarette group had no such dysfunction. The tobacco-smoking group showed increases in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels as well as heart rate, while in the electronic cigarette group, only diastolic blood pressure rose and only slightly in that case. Dr. Farsalinos explained that this suggests that the e-cigarette liquid, though it contains 11 milligrams per milliliter of nicotine, does not facilitate absorption at anywhere near the same rate as traditional cigarette smoking does.
According to Dr. Farsalinos, this study and its findings are not yet conclusive evidence to definitively call electronic cigarettes a grand solution for smokers health, but it has tremendous potential. Electronic cigarettes are the only product on the market that both offers nicotine to address chemical addiction and the psychological likenesses — the acts of smoking, holding a cigarette and the like — to address the habit. And according to lab research, the toxicity is far less and cardiac function is affected to a far lesser degree than with traditional cigarettes. Dr. Farsalinos concluded that electronic cigarettes, according to the research that currently exists, are likely a beneficial way for people who smoke standard cigarettes to drastically reduce their risk of health problems in the future.
An E Cig Cabin Reviews representative Tyler Bullock applauded Dr. Farsalinos study and said that the company was very pleased to see the scientific community back up their stance on electronic cigarettes and that they hoped that more smokers would follow suit, quit smoking tobacco-containing cigarettes and switch to the electronic variety.
